IV Sedation

Dr. King now offers IV sedation to assist with even the most severe dental anxiety. With IV sedation, an anesthesiologist administers medications directly into your bloodstream to put you in a relaxed “twilight sleep.” This helps greatly with anxiety as you likely won’t remember your procedure once you “wake” from your sleep. With IV sedation it is necessary to have a driver/ someone to care for you for the day.

Nitrous Oxide

Often referred to as “laughing gas,” nitrous oxide is a safe and highly effective alternative to IV sedation that significantly assists in the level of anxiety you feel during your procedure. This type of sedation involves breathing the nitrous oxide through a mask we place over your nose. Once the procedure is over, you are placed on 100% O2 for 5-10 minutes. You can then drive yourself home and don’t need to rely on getting transportation from someone else.

Oral Medications

We can offer you oral medications that you can take to reduce anxiety prior to and during your procedure. The most commonly prescribed dental-anxiety medications include benzodiazepines such as Diazepam (Valium) and Alprazolam (Xanax). These medications reduce anxiety by enhancing the activity of the neurotransmitter GABA in the brain. When taking these medications it is necessary to have transportation to and from your procedure.

We offer comfortable solutions for common dental concerns, including…

  • Tooth Pain
  • Traumatic Injury
  • Cracked Teeth
  • Abscesses & Swollen Gums
  • Decayed Teeth
  • Root Canal Failure
  • Sensitive Teeth
